About Me

My name is Adam Porter, and I am the founder of PorterBass.

What is PorterBass?

For the last 17 years, I have built up my career as a musician and music tutor. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, and am passionate about teaching music.

I have studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, The Academy of Music and Sound, and Southampton Solent University – where I was taught much of the knowledge and skills I now pass on to my students.

Over the years, I have built a portfolio of bands, artists and studios that I have worked with. This work has taken me all over the UK and in to Europe and has included collaborations with:

•Shayne Ward (The X Factor)

•Rachael Hawnt (All Together Now)

•Sarah Darling (The Entertainer)

•The Inklings (Live and Unsigned Finalists)

I am passionate about playing bass, and strive to always build on my skills. I also play guitar, ukulele and piano. Live music is really important to me and I perform in a variety of cover and original bands. I also spend time in the studio as a session player, and am proficient in a range of musical styles. My 8 year old daughter had desperately wanted to learn the guitar for a couple of years and it was pure luck that we managed to find Adam. Bella absolutely adores her lessons and we are all so proud and amazed at the progress that she is making under his nurturing and patient care. We are lucky that Adam travels to us for each session and he genuinely feels like one of the family now. I honestly can not recommend Adam enough!! Many thanks Rachel (mum to Bella)
